Tung Thih Electronic Co., Ltd.(TTE), a professional manufacturer of automotive components, is founded in 1979 and located in Lujhu Township in Taoyuan County in Taiwan. TTE has around 1,000 employees. Our main products are ultrasonic parking assist system, burglarproof equipments, multifunctional electronic rearview mirrors, CCD/CMOS car cameras etc. Recently, because the company successfully and aggressively expands its overseas markets, the export ratio in 2006 is over 50%. In the present, TTE has become a well-known manufacturer of car safety and burglarproof system in pan-Chinese area. Our company also has researchers to develop other products, such as auto-dimming mirror, I-key system, TPMS, and head-up display etc. These products earn customers’ reliance to order them for use.

Because automobile industry demands strict safety and reliability, the certification procedures in functions and quality of automotive electronic products before installation aboard is strict and time-consuming. Thus, there is an extremely high threshold to enter the automobile industry, and it is hard for new competitors to go across it. However, if a company can become a member of OEM, the orders and profits will be relatively stable, and it is difficult to be replaced. The ultrasonic parking assist system, one of the TTE’s products, has become the first tier supplier of the global synchronous designs of GM and Ford in North America, and Nissan in Japan. We also take OEM as our main market. At present, the domestic and foreign well-known automobile manufacturers, such as GM, Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Suzuki etc., are all our primary customers. The competitiveness of TTE can be seen here. Also, ultrasonic parking assist system is becoming a standard equipment of a new car. Most of new cars, now, have 4 parking assist devices respectively. A car which costs over million dollars will equip with 4-6 ones in the front and back bumpers rsepectively. There is a quite big potential market in this field.

Take an example in 2006. 6,000 cars were produced worldwide. The ratio of the cars which equip with ultrasonic parking assist system is less than 30%. But in the future, a new car will equip with at least 4 devices on the average. And, the global market share rate of TTE’s ultrasonic parking assist system is elevating now. It shows that there is a quite large growing space of market development in the ultrasonic parking assist system for the company in the future.
